Simply "atmospheric" dude.

It has been a few weeks since we completed a project, so the time had come to paint something...clearly!

Our office was a bit...beige.  Surprise!  Haven't heard that on this blog before, huh?  Well, beyond being beige, the paint was in pretty sad shape.

First, the bad news.  I was sure I had before pictures of all of the rooms in the house.  I did not.  So, when looking at the after pictures, we're all just going to have to imagine the difference.

For reference, the beige in question was the beige of all of the rooms previously mentioned in this blog.  Like this one...

We've known since we moved in that we were going to do a KU theme in the office.  Along with a couple of diplomas, we have a bit of KU decor around here!

In thinking about the room, we wanted a color that would go with the aforementioned decor, and that would look "office-y."  Yup, I just made up a word.  Nope, this is not uncommon with me.  Second one I've made up today, though I don't remember the first.  Hmm...note to self: remember invented words!

Anywho, back to the office.  We had 4 colors on the wall.  The first 3 were too blue for the slate-like blue color we wanted.  But the 4th was just right.  Wait, that sounds a little like Goldilocks and the 4 Paint Chips...

The winner?  Atmospheric by Behr.  More gray by day, more blue by night.  Coordinates with KU blue perfectly!  The whole family went to visit our friends at Home Depot for a Friday night date in anticipation of a fun Saturday paint project.

But look how the trim and doors pop!

We're still debating painting the ceiling.  Oh, and the paint is still drying which is why it looks a little streaky so far.

What we have so far:
painted walls/trim
carpet
wood blinds (we took them down to paint--you'll see them later)
wood cabinet
bookshelf
small desk

Still to come:
New light fixture--ceiling
framed decor and diplomas on the walls
a new/new to us/bigger desk
new doors (the two pictured have bad cat scratches and a couple of holes that aren't repairable)
a hutch of some sort for storage
alternate lighting--a floor or table lamp

Now back to the movie while the paint dries...it's a tradition of sorts around here.
