New trend in kitchen decor

The carpet arrives tomorrow!

Until then, we're trying out a new decor option.

What do you think?  It only eats up (yes, I really just said eats up in a post about the kitchen...) half of the walkway.

The only real way to get to the kitchen, because, as you may remember, our dining room is jam-packed with furniture and stuff from the rest of the house!  Needless to say, lately we've had a lot of take-out while standing in the kitchen without any furniture to sit on while we eat.

Things to remember:

-Moving an aquarium is not fun for fishes or people.
-Do this as few times as possible.
-Moving an aquarium will encourage you to do everything to the room where the aquarium goes so you don't have to move it again.  For example, our den received a fresh coat of paint on Friday night while the hubby was at work.  Same goes for the master bedroom, but only because all of the furniture was out of the room. We don't have an aquarium in there too.
-Buy your paint where the painter does and mention his name.  You might get the usual discount.... (We've had a painter help us out with the 20+foot walls in our living room and entryway.)

I think that only leaves 2 bathrooms, an office, the dining room/kitchen, and the entry to the kitchen from the garage left to paint.  (This also means that the living room, bonus room, 4 bedrooms, den, hallways, laundry room, front entryway, and one bathroom are already painted!)  WOOT!
